At ProEd Global School, we believe that every student can achieve meaningful success when given the right support and opportunities.
Our Towards Independence Program offers a specialized educational pathway for students who benefit from additional guidance in both academic and life skill development.
This program is underpinned by the ASDAN curriculum and designed to support diverse learning profiles through a highly personalized, engaging, and inclusive approach.
A Supportive and Individualised Learning Environment
Our classrooms are designed to be flexible and inclusive, allowing students to engage with the curriculum in ways that meet their unique needs. Students follow personalised learning plans that include academic, social, and functional goals, which are reviewed each term to track progress and provide targeted support.
Curriculum and Pathways
Students in the Towards Independence Program follow ASDAN’s accredited learning framework, which includes a combination of academic content and life skills modules.
In the primary years (TI1 & TI2), students aged 4–12 engage in modules focused on early academic foundations, communication, and the development of routines and community awareness.
In the secondary years (TI3 & TI4), students aged 12–19 continue with ASDAN’s Towards Independence modules and select from a range of Short Courses tailored to their interests and abilities.
Academic learning is supported through structured lessons in literacy, numeracy, and communication, complemented by inclusive experiences in subjects such as Art and Sport & Fitness.
Inclusion and Community Integration
Students benefit from meaningful inclusion in whole-school activities such as playground time, assemblies, and specialist classes, which foster social interaction, communication, and a sense of belonging.
Lessons are supported by a multidisciplinary team, including our Inclusive Education Coordinator, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, and EAL specialists, who work collaboratively to meet individual learning and developmental needs.
Practical Skills and Vocational Training
As students progress through the program, they participate in community-based learning and vocational experiences that prepare them for life beyond school.
Older learners engage in structured training at local venues, developing practical skills in areas such as barista work, kitchen training, and childcare. These experiences are guided by our support team to ensure students build confidence, communication, and independence in real-world settings.

Our goal is to equip students with the tools they need to thrive in everyday life. Through tailored ASDAN modules, students develop essential life competencies including:
