BEYOND THE CLASS ROOM: SPORTS

Sports and Physical Education classes are scheduled twice a week and play a significant role in our educational curriculum. These activities encourage students to be active, acquire new skills, and maintain their health and wellness. Additionally, we host community and family sporting events outside of school hours.

Physical Education sessions take place in a group setting, with both individual and team activities. They are taught by our four Physical Education teachers at the school’s indoor sports area, as well as at the nearby 15Fit Fitness Training Studio in Canggu.
Our younger students have regular swimming lessons and play age-appropriate team games. Their classes focus on developing perceptual-motor skills. Our secondary school students participate in a wide variety of popular sports, including:
• Soccer • Tennis • Badminton
• Volleyball • Basketball

• Futsal • Indoor Cricket • Table Tennis • Team Building Games
They also have the opportunity to attend off-campus Physical Education classes at local facilities such as gyms, sports complexes, and yoga and fitness studios.

Pro Education Sport and Fitness sessions are designed to be fun, inclusive, and allow students to challenge themselves in a positive way with plenty of encouragement. Our professional Physical Education team works closely with specialists, including the occupational therapist and school counsellor, to ensure that individual needs are met and incorporated into the program.

Our teachers also emphasize the school values and highlight the importance of sports as a social activity that can build confidence and encourage effective communication, empathy, and kindness.

Accreditation & Competition

Students participate in sports as part of the Bali Sports & School Association (BSSA), which is an island-wide sports organisation where teams compete against each other. Currently, we are forming teams for Football, Volleyball, and Basketball.

Attendance Policy

The Pro Education Attendance Policy gives direction to students unable to attend scheduled sessions due to confirmed physical or emotional health reasons.

CANTEEN

Jungle Toppings Canteen

ProEd understands that a well-rounded education involves more than just academic learning. Studies have shown that diet can significantly impact a child’s learning abilities, which is why we place a strong emphasis on promoting good habits and nutrition for our students.

To help make healthy eating accessible, we partner with Jungle Toppings to provide nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for our students. The menu features fresh and tasty meals catering to different dietary requirements, for an average price of 35,000 rupiah per meal. Parents and students can view the daily food options and place orders via our website or at the Jungle Toppings counter located at the entrance to the school.

For added convenience, we also offer a prepaid top-up system. Parents can top up a minimum of IDR 1 million per month and the child’s purchases are deducted from the account. A weekly purchase summary and account balance is sent to parents via WhatsApp or email. When the account balance reaches IDR

200,000, you receive an automatic notification to top up. In line with our commitment to being an eco-friendly school, we also encourage students to bring their own lunch boxes.

SUPPORT SERVICES

As an inclusive school, we encourage access to learning for all children and aim to provide an accommodating and supportive environment depending on every child’s needs. We are the only school in Bali to offer such a broad range of onsite services and specialists, including:

Speech and Language Therapists (SLT)

These specialists oversee all aspects of communication from literacy skills to pronunciation. They offer individual and group therapy sessions and provide in-class support to both students and teachers.

Occupational Therapists and counsellors (OT)

Occupational Therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, and sensory needs of our students in various areas, including academics, socialisation and play. Our therapists provide individual and group sessions, as well as in-class support, and utilise our on-site sensory room, the Snoezelen Room, which offers a soothing and stimulating environment.

Maths support teachers

Based on their performance, students may benefit from individual or in-class support. Our Maths support teachers complement the classroom teachings and assist students in achieving their full potential in Maths.

English as a Second Language teachers (ESL)

As Pro Ed welcomes international families, our specialist teachers help bridge the language gap and ensure a smooth transition into an English school. They provide individual sessions and in-class support.

Special Education Needs coordinators (SENCO)

These experts advocate for students with additional needs and facilitate their personalised growth and integration. Ensuring that all of our students’ needs are met is our top priority!

Wellbeing team.

We offer a wide variety of counselling and support, as we want to assist every child in succeeding both in and outside of the classroom.

These services are integrated into the school timetable to ensure that students remain in the classroom where possible. Additionally, our specialists teach or co-teach some classes to allow all of the school community to benefit from their expertise.

Once your child’s needs have been evaluated by teachers and relevant specialists, their educational program is tailored to include one or multiple services.

SCHOOL CHARITY

Pro Education is a proud sponsor of Bali Jepun Incorporated, a non-profit with a mission to improve the health, well-being and education of underprivileged Balinese children and their families.

We help by:

Sponsoring children who would not have been able to receive ongoing education otherwise

Providing families in need with essentials, such as food, household items and housing repairs

Supporting struggling families with microloans to purchase weaving looms, baby pigs to fatten up for sale, baskets to get produce to the market, cake pans to make cakes for the market, etc. Once the family’s economic situation has improved, a repayment schedule for the loan is negotiated. Loan amounts range from AUD $25.00 to AUD $100.00.

We have chosen to support Bali Jepun as it is a charity run by compassionate individuals dedicated to providing educational opportunities and improving the quality of children and their families’ lives. Our school raises funds and collects goods, clothing items and learning supplies donations to help sponsor the education of children in need. Our current goal is to sponsor the cost of 5 children’s educational expenses.
