Unity in Celebration: ProEd Global School Nuanu Campus Assembly for Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day

In honor of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, the ProEd Global School Nuanu Campus came together on August 15, 2025 for a memorable whole-school assembly that highlighted pride, knowledge, and community spirit. The morning was filled with voices raised in song, minds engaged in learning, and hearts united in celebration.

The assembly opened with a warm speech from Ms. Nandita, who reflected on the importance of the flag-raising ceremony held earlier in the day and reminded everyone of the values of independence, resilience, and togetherness.

This was followed by a moving rendition of the patriotic song “17 Agustus”, led by Ms. Panca, with students, teachers, and parents joining in chorus. The hall echoed with national pride as our community sang together, honoring the significance of the day.

Adding a spirit of fun and learning, the celebration continued with a lively quiz session from Ms. Pam for both students and parents. Questions tested everyone’s knowledge of Indonesia—such as:

  • Apa warna bendera Indonesia? (What are the colors of the Indonesian flag?)
  • Apa ibu kota Indonesia? (What is the capital city of Indonesia?)
  • Pulau manakah yang paling padat penduduknya di Indonesia? (Which is the most populated island in Indonesia?)
  • Berapa jumlah pulau di Indonesia? (How many islands are there in Indonesia?)

With enthusiasm and confidence, participants answered correctly, showing not only their knowledge but also their appreciation for the country’s heritage and identity.

The event concluded with a vibrant performance of Gemu Fa Mi Re, a traditional group dance led by Ms. Villa. Teachers, students, and parents all joined hands (and steps), filling the space with joy and energy. The dance symbolized unity and togetherness—reminding us that at ProEd Global School, we celebrate not only through words, but through shared experiences.

The whole assembly was a true reflection of the Independence Day spirit—where learning, culture, and community come together. It showed that at ProEd Global School Nuanu Campus, independence is celebrated not just as history, but as a living value embraced by everyone in our school community.
