At ProEd Global School, community and patriotism go hand in hand, and this was beautifully demonstrated during our recent Independence Day Celebrations. On August 16, 2024, Nuanu campus came together to commemorate Indonesia’s Independence Day with a flag-raising ceremony that was both solemn and joyful. This event served not only as a reminder of the country’s rich history but also as a powerful symbol of unity within our school community.
From the youngest learners to our senior students, everyone participated with enthusiasm. The entire school dressed in red and white, the colors of the Indonesian flag, which created a vibrant and festive atmosphere across the campus. It was inspiring to see students take pride in the occasion, many of whom waved miniature flags and sang the national anthem with heartfelt passion.
But more than just a day of celebration, the event underscored the importance of community at ProEd. The ceremony itself was a product of collaboration, with students, staff, and parents working together to create an experience that resonated deeply with everyone in attendance. Teachers took the opportunity to discuss the significance of Indonesia’s independence in their classrooms, fostering not only academic learning but also a sense of shared heritage and cultural appreciation.
Mr. Terry from Nuanu Campus, captured the essence of the day perfectly when he addressed the crowd, reminding us that Independence Day is not just about looking back, but also about looking forward—building a future that upholds the values of freedom, community, and respect. His words inspired both students and staff to continue contributing positively to our school and the larger community.
Celebrations like these play a pivotal role in reinforcing our C.A.R.E.S. (Community, Academics, Recreation, Empathy, Sustainability) framework. Through events that encourage participation from every member of the ProEd family, we continue to nurture a strong and supportive school culture that values collaboration, unity, and mutual respect.
As we move forward into the academic year, we look back on this Independence Day Celebration as a shining example of how the ProEd community comes together in both heart and spirit. We are proud to be part of such a dynamic and diverse community, and we are excited to continue celebrating events that highlight our shared values and aspirations.
